The Health Bloggers Community: HBCxMeet Event
So last week I attended the first Health Bloggers Community networking event. This HBCxMeet event was a great experience. Having never attended a blogging event or even networked with bloggers, I was nervous. I'm new to this blogging game, so that's ok I guess. Right?!
The communities venue of choice...Total Chi Yoga Bar, Baker St, the perfect spot and an amazing venue. This place looked like the epitome of wellness. A bright and modern environment that screamed health.
I immediately felt comfortable and relaxed as I entered. Beautiful decor, with a clean and zen upstairs waiting area. As we were greeted buy the amazing organisers from the community with bright smiles and healthy protein shakes, we were escorted downstairs to two great studios, that I can imagine would be perfect for yoga. Right now, they are filled with tables of health products and LOTS of health bloggers.
Cameras around necks, camera phone out and snapping away, it's a social media health pool out here. I'm afraid to admit, I feel a little bit at home.
The team at the community have gathered lots of brands, all aimed at the health world, to show off there new products and to gain feedback, from the experts. Us. All ingredients for smoothies, salads and other healthy parts of life.
Out the brands in attendance, there were two that stood out for me.
Borough Broth Co. - A great tasting bone broth product. I could smell the chicken aroma as i walked in to the second studio and had to try it. I stood and a spoke to the owner Ros Heathcote for a little bit about the product, the simple production process, the good quality ingredients. It was so simple and tasted amazing! And at 60 kcal per sachet, how could you say no.
Halo Wholefoods - An amazing family run business from the north. Great tasting, healthy products that looked amazing. Everything from granola to protein balls of healthy goodness. I was sold after the yoghurt pot, with the healthy granola and fresh fruit. Then the coconut bliss protein balls just took me over the edge! Luckily I had a bit of self control...but only just.
This was an amazing opportunity for me to take on a bit of photography also. I tried my best to practise my manual photography skills with my trusty Canon M3. Overall, I think I did an ok job.
I really loved the event and the connections that I made. It's inspired me to drive my lifestyle blog forward, be more involved in the blogging community and spread my blogging wings.
Until next time.
